So, you know my friend Bethi that I did the Twin Shoot with?   We have been friends since we were 11.  We would have sleepovers all of the time.  I remember when she first moved here from California, she had a birthday party.  Her mom worked at a salon doing permanent makeup and stuff.  No, she didn’t do permanent make up on us, but if she wants to now, I might consider!    Back to my awesome story.  In those days, the cool thing was to do “Glamour Shots”.  You know, where your hair fills up the whole picture and you have so much make up on that you look like a different person.  So for her birthday party, her mom loaded us all up in the van and took us down to the salon.  She did our makeup and hair all “glamlike”.  Then we had cool clothes waiting for us to try on.  We all looked so beeeautiful.   So of course, we had our pictures taken.  How cool is that?  You know how sometimes you remember tiny details.  I remember that when we went outside, it started snowing.  It was magical.  Of course, we had so much makeup on that when the snowflakes hit our face, the make up started dripping down our face.  Good times.   So for your viewing pleasure, I bring to you my first ever {and last} Professional Glamour shot!

scroll down, I want it to be a surprise~

Ya, I know.  I am so photogenic’nt.  I could have photoshopped this baby but I wanted to show you the all natural cuteness.  Ok.  Just got a great idea.  I have been wanting to show a before and after with photoshopping.   So this is a great example of what photoshop can do.  No matter what, nothing will be as good as the original. Remember that!

and here ya go

Swiss Days and a heck of a deal!

Posted on September 28, 2009

Swiss Days was a huge success and blast.  My bow making friend Kelsi asked if I wanted to join her and share a booth. It was so much fun! Not only did I sell lots of Pettiskirts, I also booked a bunch of sessions!!  Woo-hoo!!  So all you procrastinators who are dreading it and putting off getting your family pics done, hurry it up.  If you need a little motivation {aka kick in the butt} you might want to pay attention:  At Swiss Days, I was passing out a coupon that I have decided to pass onto you.

Get your family pictures done by October 15th, I will give you $25 off.

That makes it $75, CD and all.  So that gives you only 2 weeks to prepare.  So hurry up and call me because like I said, I have already booked a bunch and there is only so many hours in the day.  I know that nothing motivates me more than saving a buck.  If that’s not motivation for you, then I guess we have less in common than I thought.

I didn’t take tons of pictures during Swiss Days.  I was way too busy chit chatting with all of the new friends I was meeting {call me;)}.  It is weird because even though I grew up in St. George, Santa Clara is far enough away, that I hardly saw anyone I knew.  You know, because anytime I go anywhere, I see a million people I know.  I am that cool. I wish I would have gotten a picture of us working the booth, but we were so hot, sweaty and gross, it would have not been pretty.  It was so hot, I got tan lines on my feet!  So back to picture taking. Last minute (like noon on Sat.)  I decide to offer 10 minute mini sessions for kids. You can see the details here.  I did have  quite a few takers so I was happy about that.  It was so hot, most kids were total grumps.

This cute baby girl {H}, was one of those hot grumpy cuties.  I was so excited that the second I started shooting, she transformed.  It was fun because she was a bit younger than my daughter, but she didn’t run away.  How I wish my little missy would stay still for 2 seconds.

Check out this chicks eyes.  CRAZY huh!  I am sure she thought I was CRAZY when, in mid-conversation I start  freaking out about her eyes and asking her if I could take a picture.  But we all know that I am so not crazy.  Right?
